New Classes and Crops

"New"... Our Year-Long Double "Page of the Month" Class:
We are so excited to bring a new series of classes to you.
Join us as we create a double page layout each month using all the newest, latest and greatest products. This way you are sure to complete an entire album this year full of fun memories while learning lots of new techniques along the way. Also, if you attend all 12 classes, you will receive a 50% discount on any album of your choice to put all your pages in. The first in this series will be our "Let It Snow" snowman layout on January 23. (see details below)

"Christmas" 2 Double Page Christmas Layouts:
Saturday, January 9, 2:00 - 4:00 PM
These super cute layouts will feature Pink Paislee's Mistletoe & Co. and Crate Paper's North Pole collections. You will receive lots of extra goodies to use on other projects including chipboard letters and shapes and go home with 4 pages done!

Indian Summer "Fall" Double Page Layout:
Thursday, January 14, 5:30 - 7:30 PM
Featuring Basic Grey this layout is rich with color, texture and design.
Again you will receive lots of extra chipboard and other goodies to use on other projects.

"Let It Snow" Layout:
Saturday, January 23, 10:00 AM
Featuring the Fancy Pants collection, this layout is perfect for all your winter photos. You will learn some new techniques as we work with Tim Holtz's Grungepaper, Crackle Paint, and Distress Inks as well as transparencies, stickles, and the new Flower Soft.
Bring basic supplies as well as the following if you have them: Distress Inks in these colors: Weathered Wood, Orange Marmalade, Black Soot, Walnut Stain; vellum spray, Tim Holtz scissors, and liquid glue or the Flower Soft glue.
Class fee $21.00

Retreat Weekend:
The January Retreat will be Friday, January 29, 6pm-2am; Saturday, January 30, 10am-2am; and Sunday, January 31, 10am-5pm.
Retreat fee $35.00

We will be making four fabulous Valentine cards featuring Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine collection and Pink Paislee's Cupid collection.

Photo Opportunities for December

Remember to check and charge your camera batteries this weekend. We do not want to miss any photos of family and friends that may come by. This is a great time to figure out the macro setting on your camera and put it to good use for the little details of Christmas time.

The macro symbol usually looks like this



Try it out on some ornaments or decorations around the house. Remember your camera has a minimum focusing distance. That means you can only get so close to something without it going out of focus. If you are using your zoom, you may have to back up just a little. You will get used to your camera with some practice. Some cameras have a super macro too. That one lets you get really close, sometimes within about an inch of something. Remember to take your camera out of the macro setting when you start taking regular distance photos and snapshots of the family.

Remember to take lots of photos and don't forget to jot down notes for your scrapbooks. Take some photos of people unwrapping gifts. If someone sent you something or gave you a gift, send the photo of the unwrapping in a thank you note. We hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a great Holiday Season!
